week 2 part 3
no guys, I've not given up on blogging about my ohseoulexciting adventures because I still have not gotten to all the parts that i want to talk about yet haha.
right so where were we? I finished talking about the weekdays of week 2 so now lets talk about the weekends.

Saturday - Railway Bike
the day that i was supposed to stay in dorm to read my readings cause there was the debate thing on monday which accounts for 40% of our total grade and I haven't started yet butttt... i gave in to jj's persuasion and went with them hahaha.

we were supposed to take the subway to another station where we'll change to another kind of train to go to the northern part of korea (somewhere in chuncheon! where namiseom is and where they are famous for their ddakgalbi~ ).

before we took the other train, we had lunch at a small ahjumma restaurant and jb brought us to this area which was kinda like the red light district?
it was interesting. the whole street was made up of small shops (can i call them shops?)
imagine small shops but there were no walls, just glass. so you can see what is inside. and inside the shop was this small area which you can see and then theres another door inside. sort of like a beauty salon? the kind of places that people go to to do facial. from the outside all you can see is just the reception table. only instead of the reception desk is just a wall mirror and a chair very much like a hair salon.
ya so the whole street was just these "shops" joined together and in each "shop" theres a pretty, long legged, big boobies, long hair, nicely dressed girl.
interestingggg.

okay back to train.
so the thing is that, they didn't buy train tickets and apparently we can just tap in with our t-money card (the ezlink card) so we did just that but i still felt that something was wrong because usually if you buy the train ticket, theres a seat number on it so if we were to just tap in with our tmoneycard, then where can we sit?
andddd i was right. so.
for those that did not buy the train ticket, they have nowhere to sit and have to stand around on the train for the whole journey (which takes 1 hour or more?!) and buy the ticket on the train (and as i've learnt from a later episode, even if you were to buy a ticket at the train station, you have to make sure that it comes with a seat! they do sell standing tickets.)
anyways. fortunately for us, we were a bunch of pretty thick skinned young people so we just found some teeny tiny corner between the back of some chairs and the wall and squeezed ourselves inside haha. and look at hardworking sop and i reading our notes~
when we reached there and tried to buy ourselves a couple of tickets for the railway bike, the nearest timing was like 5 in the evening and so we had a few hours to waste before that.
and let me say that the place has not much to do. wait not much is an overstatement. hahaha theres nothing to do in that area. its like forest-y and the main attraction is just the railway bike.
anyway, we went to walk around the area. there were houses and small plots of land where the people there grow vegetables and fruits and they were covered with that white shelter/net thing.
while walking on the road, we came across this woman who was running around giving people(including us) this berry-like thing which i guess came from her plot of land.

and soon we came to this mountain and we decided to try to climb it since we were so free.

a few minutes in and you can already tell that i'm a little breathless

thats us resting at the first resting place that we came across. the forest is nice~
the resting place is cool cause its made of up of like these wooden chairs that look like those pool chairs that were made for people to suntan hahaha.
there was also this 2 other people at the resting place and they were... COOKING RAMYEON.
lolol.
i think we (or just me?) talked to them a little and we found out that we're not even halfway up the mountain yet so we decided to go down and grab ourselves some dinner.

thats me, in a very typical old people pavilion and sitting like an ahjumma.
basically doing what i always see in dramas and have been dying to try out.
anddd if you look carefully, you can see that i'm holding this giant red thing. thats the giant tomato that jj kinda stole for me. lol. technically he didn't steal it. he just took it off the ground. hahaha.

so while walking from the foot of the mountain somewhere where we can get food, we came across this old granny whom i think i started talking to (lol expect to talk to a lot of locals when you go travelling with me) and she started to highly recommend this restaurant which she said was her son's restaurant so we went in. it was ddakgalbi but different from the kind that i was expecting. this was grilled and as you can see, we have the special service of the boss serving us while the part timers sitting idly in the back cause there were no other customers haha.
it was good though. grilled ddeok is so good! although its tasteless, its like all crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside. be careful not to burn your tongue though hehe.
oh and the granny came back with some ddeok (the dessert kind) for us.

yay finally on the railway bike~~

pretty pretty scenery along the way~ this is a really good idea to not let the railway tracks go to waste!

this was taken by jj who hopped off the bike hahaha.
we got to pass through some tunnels along the way and it was awesome.
i can only remember 2 of them. one of the tunnel was blasting psy's gentleman with flashing colourful lights while the other one was decorated with fairylights and made to be really romantic. nice nice nice~~

however, the best part has got to be seeing this.
a sky full of pink clouds as the sun sets!!!
so pretty!!~~

and the tired jb couple who fell asleep~

Sunday - Meet-up with PB girls

met up with joyce, hazel, jr and pris!
like i said, it felt as though the whole singapore was in korea during that period hahaha.
we had lunch which was a little disappointing and then we walk to garosugil and did a little shopping.
and after eating some bingsu (expensive type 1 delicious bingsu~~), we then we decided to walk to passion 5 to visit ahreum eonni~~~ and other koreans.
which was a bad idea because it was pretty damn far hahaha.
on the way~
apparently i didn't recieve the memo to bring my sunglasses zz.

outside passion five!
anyway ahreum eonni told us that she's gonna end work soon and asked us to wait for her so we can go eat dinner together. (yayy~)
so we just sat opposite p5 and camwhored while waiting for her haha.

and then all of us walked to itaewon (itaewon freedom~) to find something to eat and we ended up at this shop to eat... JJIMDDAK.
JD IS DELICIOUS, GUYS. for real.

here is the jjimddak in all its glory~~ (holy aaahhh~~)
we ordered like 2 big portions and some beer and ended up seriously stuffed.

after dinner we decided to go for some karaoke and went to the nearest one which was damn freaking shady!!! HAHAHA.

oh oh i have to mention one thing. during the karaoke, ahreumeonni got this song, B.A.P's daebaksagon.
okay to people who don't know, which is everybody except for ahreumeonni and i, that song was in my handphone's playlist which played before in the shop while ahreumeonni was here and i can still remember her singing that first line to me when it played in the shop.
"말도안돼 정말완벽해" (no way, really perfect) while pointing at herself. hahaha. and i was really crazy about b.a.p then. okay thats not the point.
the fact that she probably remembered all that and chose that song...
can i cry now? she is really too awesome.

thats us on the way to get some desserts after karaoke-ing.
oh and i was supposed to leave by this time cause my 40% debate was tomorrow and i still haven't started on my readings yet lol but i couldn't abandon everyone and leave first so i contacted my partner (YC) who then happily replied that she's drinking at hongdae with jb and sop loll.

we went to eat...bingsu again! hahahaha.
but its a type 2 this time. not that i'm complaining~

 yepp so thats the end~~

and i finally started on my readings and research and debate ppt and stuff with yc at 1 am and we just chionged through the night till around 7 and slept for an hour before we have to get up and prepare for class (and our debate). lol in the end we lost the debate. the opponents were really strong though, those ABCs that could speak really well. and i guess thats why we got a B overall for this mod instead of A hahaha.
but no regrets~
