week 2
somewhere at the start of the week, doyeon (our peace buddy) arranged a dinner with other peace buddies and their groups so we all had a dinner together. and i asked zhenping to join us cause her peace buddy didn't seem to plan anything for them. anyway it was quite a long table of people and this was where I met Jacob who was from another peace buddy group. Jacob is this funny ang moh who is the biggest fanboy of snsd I have ever met. hahahaha. Anyway through the dinner I realised that I can click with him quite well and we (doyeon, sop, zhenping, jacob and I) decided to go to a noraebang after dinner instead of going back to dorm(Round 2) i think the shop name is pasiya if i remember correctly. (I LOOK DAMN SCARY HERE!!) andd on another day during the same week, doyeon asked if we wanna eat dinner together so we ordered paddalk [spring onion chicken. basically just fried chicken (KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN IS BEST) in sauce of your choice and heaps of spring onion (uncut) on top] to school and we (the original peace buddy group plus zhenping minus sabrina) ate it in school then went to han river!~~ sitting in the middle of nowhere, eating our ramyun and feeling the cold breeze while talking about random stuff and judging all the couples around us (which is everyone because Seoul is the unofficial couple paradise. not for the lonely hearted) somewhere along the night jj (from our open mind clique) came to join us cause he wanted to waste some time before he goes clubbing but in the end he didn't go haha. butttt i think it was this night that sparked the our (sop, yc and mine) interest to try clubbing in korea hahaha. Inside the lift meant for the disable and elderly that NOBODY takes. but being stupid tourists, we (okay mainly me) wanted to try this cool lift cause its not just any normal elevator! normal elevator goes up but this one goes diagonally together with the escalator at the sides. anddd on another day on the same week, I decided to meet up with jiarui because she has arrived in korea for her summer school (so OF COURSE we should meet hahaha). ate some hotpot thing in a shop that was apparently supposed to be famous before we headed for the DOG CAFE!! on the way to the dog cafe we passed by this store that was filled with flowers (REAL FLOWERS mind you). i think this shop changes their display frequently cause when i was in the guesthouse in hapjeong i passed by it again and it has water pouring down from the ceiling to the floor once and like ribbons trailing from ceiling to floor another time. cool place. I don't even know what they sell. anyway, about bauhouse. its an awesome place whereby you just have to buy a drink (normal cafe price but don't expect the drinks to taste good) and you can stay there for however long you want to play with the doggies. the place is divided into 2 sections, one with all the big dogs and one for the smaller dogs. the big dogs don't give a shit about you unless you have food or you work there and that enclosure has random landmines on the floor (if you get what i mean) so i just stayed at the small dogs enclosure. and lucky for us, there weren't a lot of people in the shop that night, only us and a pair of girls who left shortly after we came cause all the small dogs flocked to us hahaha. my bare thighs brings all the doggies to the yard~ they like to cuddle to me and fall asleep. so cute~~ the tiny puppy that got all the girls going crazy. my fave~ i think its name was lucy. or was that the name of its twin? anyway it smells nice!! like it just took a shower. and its so warm~ lololol look at that sleepy face. queen of doggies haz arrived. the cafe kinda smells when you first step in but you'll get used to it after a while and its definitely more fun than cat cafe cause cats don't give a shit about humans. plus the guys working here are cute. HAHAHA. okay so thats that for the weekdays, stay tuned for the weekends of week 2~ Monday, November 24 |

NAMI SEOM
So after the very eventful saturday, i had to wake up early the next day cause i was meeting joyce, hazel and my favourite ahreum eonni whom i have not seen for nearly 2 years~~okay at first i was going to meet ahreum eonni to go climb some mountain cause climbing a mountain is like the first thing on my "things to do in korea" list buttt i thought she might not want to do such strenuous exercise on her off day and i guess i wasn't quite fit enough for that yet too so she suggested that we go to nami seom instead. and i asked joyce and hazel to come along with us. (i think sop went to meet her own friends on this day) for those who don't know, nami seom is the famous island where they filmed winter sonata and apparently the view is supposed to be really nice during autumn and winter BUT it was summer so... just trees with green leaves everywhere. soooo.... due to sleeping late last night, i kinda overslept a little this morning and was late in meeting them. (plus it was the first time for me to take the subway alone! yay to first experiences~) so to get to nami seom, i have to take subway from ewha to i think city hall where i have to change train (which i kinda went to the wrong side of the train track and sidetrack... in korea, to get from one side to another, you have to make one big round and sometimes even tap out to tap in on another side instead) to get to yongsan station, where we were supposed to meet to change from subway to the choo-choo train and take about an hour and a half to get to some other station (which i forgot the name of)to take a ferry. sounds complicated but not really hahaha. RIGHT. while i was on the train to cityhall, joyce called me to scold me about being late (cause they alr bought the choo choo train tickets and they were all already there waiting for me) and she said "you better not miss your stop or else..." (prophecy 1) and while i was busy talking to her on line, i realised that my train went past city hall station (: so i had to take the train one stop back and at city hall station i got to the wrong side of the track (as mentioned above) anddd on the train ride toward yong san station, she called me again cause our choochoo train was gonna reach soon (i was really racing against time. living life on the edge yoz~) and on the phonecall she said "you better run here and better not fall down while running here if not really too sia suay already" (prophecy 2). GUESS WHO FELL DOWN WHILE RUNNING UP THE ESCALATOR? from then on, joyce is known as the prophet. eating the breakfast that eonni had very kindly bought for me while i was rushing like a madwoman~ (': okay to be honest, there wasn't much to do at nami seom hahaha. we... walked around, took pictures, walked past this ostrich place which hazel has very affectionately named "the jurassic park", rode on the swan boat thing (drama-licious). thats about all i guess. pretty flower ring~~ playing with the wild flowers~ (these flowers can be found everywhere in korea btw, much like our mimosa haha) and they made me into a vase by poking those flowers into my hole-y shirt zzz oh oh and we came across this place in the shade for with benches for people to sit and rest and... its a mini library!! but if i remember correctly, they only have children's picture books. yepps. lol the only photos i have of the swan boat lolll we took a lot of photos inside but i think i didn't manage to transfer them to the comp before my phone died on me hahaha. then we also took a lot of retarded photos. pretending that we're ahjummas eating watermelons in the ahjumma pavilion shelter like thing. twins. HAHAHAHA.
lol and hazel just had to have a fan in her bag at that moment hahahaha.
and then ah reum eonni wanted us to try to take a picture like this and after many failed attempts... the closest we got were these 2 photos hahahaha.
and we took some grp shots...
before the retardedness sinks in hahahaha
no boyfriends to take with so we formed our own couples and took couple pics with the winter sonata's signature
snowman hahahahha.
snowman in the summer~ hilarious hahaha.
and there were a lot of ddakgalbi (chicken rib) shops there so we just went into one and had our dinner there. first legit ddakgalbi i've eaten AND IT IS TILL DATE ONE OF THE MOST DELICIOUS THINGS I'VE EATEN IN KOREA. Idk if i was hungry that day or what but it was really super delicious and when i went to eat yooganae (the one we have in bugis) with sop and jacob in hongdae it just... doesn't match up to this delicious-ness. and of course the fried rice that you're supposed to make with the leftover sauce which ahreum eonni made into a heart and i think either joyce or hazel added some facial features to it. and at first we ordered another bowl of noodles that never came so they gave us extra rice for free as service (hello service, i've missed you). (love the fried rice~~~ jjang jjang jjang) cute aprons! hahahaha. and after that we took ferry and choochoo train back to seoul and we decided to go to seoul station to visit Mr Cha! okay the thing is, we wanted to go back to seoul and have desserts whereby we'll pay cause we haven't spent a single won for the whole day (ahreum eonni paid for our choochoo train tickets and the ferry tickets and the dinner and the swan boat thing also plus she kinda bought them in advance so we can't pay her back or used her card so that the payment was made before we even took our wallets out.) but since we went to visit mr cha at his shop, the dessert were kinda free so in the end we really didn't pay anything. the strawberry souffle is delicious. just saying. hahaha. i think this was milk tea bingsu. (type2 definitely) it was fun to see mr cha again~ mr cha, who claimed that we came at the wrong time cause if he would just shave or style his hair, the female customers would queue all the way to outside the shop lolol. yepp after that we parted ways and i took the same bus as ahreum eonni. while waiting for the bus i kinda teared up and cried abit hahahaha. cause firstly i was super happy to see her again and secondly i don't know when is the next time i would see her again after i leave korea now and would we still be able to hang out without awkwardness like this again? she was really like the big sister that i wished i had. anyway she was like "why are you crying?" and with my cui korean i couldn't express a lot of the things that i wanted to say in time (by the time i finished composing a proper sentence that is socially correct in my head and say it the sun would probably have risen again hahaha) so i just kinda shrugged. "is it cause you're too happy?" then i just anyhow nodded my head cause what else could i have said right? "it's okayyyy, as long as we're alive, there'll be plenty of chances for us to meet up in the future" she ALWAYS, ALWAYS say this kind of nice stuff that makes me cry hahahaha. and times like this makes me realise how sometimes, even though no words are said, or if there are communication barriers like this, feelings are still able to get across. incredible. Even though we barely talked ever since she went back to korea (cause my korean and her english sucked), i could still remember how excited she was when i told her that i would be going to korea in june. Not only that, she purposely took an off day which i would be free so that we could spend a whole day together and kinda planned this day for us and throughout the whole day made sure that we get to do what we wanna do without wasting time and even for the food, made sure that it was suitable for our tastes. oh and she was wearing this friendship bracelet that joleen and i made for her before she left singapore to go back to korea. *cue tears again* all the points above combined plus the fact that she took care of it and remembered us and wore it out nearly 2 years later when she's coming out to meet me just means a lot to me. In conclusion, it was a fun day and Ahreum eonni is my favourite korean andihopethatshecanfindaniceguysoonandgoontheireuropebackpackinghoneymoonsoon~~ hahaha. Wednesday, November 5 |
