okay i'm just gonna blog with whatever pictures i have.

us arriving at the airport in bangkok, amused by anything and everything.
"wow look, plants!"

so basically we just shopped till we dropped. literally.
so our loot from chatuchak market on day 2 of our trip.
out of all the shopping spots we went to, i like chatuchak the most. its like a super super super big bugis street cum flea market. lots of good stuff, if you can find them.

day 3 we went to platinum shopping mall which was damn freaking big. platinum would be more of a huge-ass far east shopping centre.
we were like through 4 floors of the place we were at, with only 3 more floors to go and with very little money left, when we realised that we had only been shopping in zone 3. there are still zones 1 and 2 which we haven't even touched and they're like bigger and with a lot more shops.
that was a very depressing moment. when you have close to no more money to shop already but there are still so many shops ):
anyway, our buys from the 3rd day at platinum.

our fourth day was spent at MBK. didn't buy much cause we don't have much money already. hahahaha.

and a picture with the guy who served us at the restaurant where we had our dinner.
no reason, other than that the mushroom on his head was really cute. hahahaha.

oh and a busker that we saw on the street who was drumming with pails and metal tins and stuff. he was really good at it and it was just very inspiring. showed me how a person's passion should not be limited by anything.

on the 5th day we went to pattaya.
checked in and then met up with kelly's uncle's friend's friend, nune, and her doggy, liverpool, and she drove us to a beach that was supposedly nicer than the one near our hotel but both kinda look the same to me. hahaha.
we tried the banana boat, which was pretty fun at first but quite torturous at the end when i'm trying to cling on for dear life even though my limbs have like no more strength. by the end of the longest 30 minutes of my life, we were all limp. (or is it just me hahahaha)
anyway, the ride left me with a lot of bruises, with the most prominent one on my chin. i guess... i'm just not cut out for sports. -.-

got ourselves some tattoos.

i wanted to scare my mum with those tattoos but when i came back, NO ONE BELIEVED THAT THEY ARE REAL TATTOOS. boooo. T-T

and kelly and i finally fulfilled our promise since O'levels and got ourselves bikinis.
(hmmm actually i don't think the one kelly got count as a bikini but okay never mind)

and this is ajay with our hotel room's smart tv's smart remote control/keyboard.

went for tiffany show at night, which was awesome. (we got first row seats!)
they are really very pretty. omg.
after that went to have dinner with kelly's 2 uncles and then walked around, then hard rock cafe, then club 433. HAHAHAHAHA.

woke up really stiff and aching everywhere. ate breakfast then went for massage.
the massage felt SO GOOD that i just had to give the aunty who massaged me a hug after that.

okay then we just packed and went to the airport.

oh ya there was this bell boy who had really nice eyes.

me: you have nice eyes!
him: thank you. you too.
me: chhh
him: (trying to cover up) no! i like small eyes!

hahahaha.
(anyway kelly and ajay, i never got to know his name cause he didn't add me on fb afterall. so i guess i didn't make a new friend in thailand. damn.).
hahahaha.

yep so i guess thats that.
at first i thought the comibnation of ajay, kelly and i would be awkward but nope, they are crazy funny people too on top of the nice polite people that i all along thought they were so it was a very enjoyable trip.
this trip made me realised that we are all incredibly lucky to be born in Singapore and to have all that we have right now.
and we are so lucky to have kelly as a friend for if not we would have been more clueless and the trip would have cost a lot a lot more.

i'd miss spending days with the girl who has the "superpower" of knowing every song in the world and the girl who loves buying stuff for people.

sunday was my aunt's birthday so we all went to eat at the chinese restaurant in RWS (curse of the harbourfront) then after lunch they all went to the casino, leaving my cousin and i to wander around on our own.

saw this at daiso and i was so tempted to buy it!!
but still, $2 for a packet of instant noodles is a bit too much.
hahahaha.

all in all, it was a day of good food, lots of wandering, trying to waste time and spazzing about beast.

soooo... 2 of my current favourite groups each released an album recently! yayyy :D
overall, i'm very happy with these 2 albums. each song in each album has a different feel to it, showing how versatile both groups are. good job beast and b.a.p!

okay lets talk about midnight sun first.
i saw a tweet from shinsadong tiger that asks us to listen to the album in this order:
when i miss you, midnight, it's not me, beautiful night, dream girl, the day you rest.
so when i met up with my cousin on sunday, we listened to the album in that order while reading the lyrics and we came up with a storyline for the album:
the guy broke up with girlfriend and he misses her, so much so that he can't sleep at midnight.
(okay then the other 4 songs don't really link to the first 2 but okay never mind)
the guy cheated on the girlfriend, went to the club and had a beautiful night, met his dream girl and turns into a possessive boyfriend.
which maybe then led to their break-up in the first place. so its like a flashback?
actually i think it'll make more sense if its in this sequence:
beautiful night, dream girl, it's not me, the day you rest, when i miss you, midnight.
okay new story:
the guy went to a night club behind his girlfriend's back and had a beautiful night, where he met his dream girl. however, his girlfriend found out about his night and he tried to lie his way out of it. on top of that, he acted like a possessive boyfriend and all these led to their break up and then the boyfriend miss his girlfriend a lot, so much so that he can't sleep in the midnight.
end.

i like the change in this album. all along beast sang about being cheated on, left behind by their girlfriends, missing their girlfriends, how beautiful their girlfriends are etc etc but BOOM. all of a sudden they became boys who visit nightclubs behind their girlfriends' backs and lying about it and also they became insecure, possessive boyfriends.
GOOD BOYS GONE BAD.

favourite song in this album

junhyung's part is totally not rapping but singing right?
this style of this song suits them best i think.
and apparently this song is composed by junhyung. good job good job.

okay next, b.a.p's no mercy.
as usual, with b.a.p's songs, you have to read the lyrics to appreciate the song.
all except "dancing in the rain".
i mean, on one hand, you have lyrics criticising the society, mocking the fakers, encouraging people and on the other hand you have this song with lyrics like
"Already I’m ready
You’re very tipsy baby
You want me too
Already I’m ready
You’re very sexy baby
Lift me up and love me tonight".
no, really?
that aside, the rest of the songs are pretty good.

my favourite song in this album:

love how they make use of the number tone in the background.
and daehyun's voice~
as usual, can barely hear himchan and jongup.
and apparently this song is composed by bang yong guk. good job, bang.
this song has such a dark, gloomy feeling. if this song has an mv, i bet it'll be raining inside. everything will be sort of gray-scaled, and daehyun would be hitting his high notes in the rain. hahahaha.

the ballads of both albums are also pretty awesome

(jongup and himchan finally got to sing!!)
camparing the 2 ballads, the beast's one is better.
i'm sorry daehyun, but yoseob's voice is still my favourite.
without looking at the lyrics, just listening to the last few lines of the song that yoseob sang already drove me close to tears.
and b.a.p's ballad sounds like something that some other groups that specialise in ballads would sing.

in conclusion,
in this battle between midnight sun and no mercy,
the victory goes to midnight sun.

afterall, b.a.p is still a rookie group and they have a long way to go.

my ultimate bias came on the day that i went back to work! so happy :D

i finally managed to finish reading 50 plus pages of the forum and listened to beast and bap's new songs!

i like beast's midnight. i was expecting something more of the lines of i knew it but this is not bad too. kikwang got to sing the chorus! sounded a bit weird but i'll get used to it.
waiting for the other songs to be released and for them to start promoting!

on the other hand, B.A.P really has no mercy on babys.
no mercy is so different that i had to listen to it a few times before i can accept it but after reading the lyrics and watching the performances, its like wow. as bad ass as their other songs. i like ^^
(i don't really fancy the crotch dance though...)
the other songs in the album are also different from their usual style but i like them all the first time i hear them.

yay, a round of applause for myself for finishing the long posts all at one shot.

it just shows how strong its teeth are. scary.

okay moving on~
monday and tuesday were kids club bbq chalet days.

not much photos available yet. i didn't stay over. monday was basically just checking in, buying stuff and bbq-ing.

funny group of people ^^
didn't eat much cause my stomach still felt queasy looking at all those oily food. there were SOOOO much leftover food. in the end we decided to put it in the kids club fridge for them to bbq on the second night. so michelle drove us from the chalet to kids club. FIRST TIME BEING DRIVEN AROUND BY A FRIEND. what a cool experience :D
hahaha i was so very excited and amused the whole ride and they were amused at how amused i was. hahaha.
and when i was about to fall asleep, emily messaged me saying that i forgot to bring my wallet back. HAIZZ, what happened to you, brain?

tuesday. i left house at around 10 plus am to meet the chalet people again.
("chen ting you never stay over then tomorrow morning you MUST come ahhh!")
and OF COURSE it started to pour the moment i stepped out of my house.
anyway, we went underwater world~
so cool, it has been so so soooooo long since i went there. i can barely remember when it was.
in order to not spam you all with my attempts to selca with the fishes, i've very kindly made it into a collage. hahaha.

oh and look at this sharky, sleeping with one fin over another sharky. aww how sweet~

then you realise that it has its other fin over another shark. sharky, you pimp.

the ocean is such a scary scary scary place. the fishes can be SO HUGE and it dark and deep.
it just makes me think that all those creatures i see in one piece could actually be real. hahaha.

we went for both of the shows. the dolphins and sea lions are so smart. and adorable. makes me want to work there. hahaha.
and one of the dolphin trainer was so handsome. hahaha had all of us struggling to keep our eyes on the dolphins.
oh and i met louise, who was working there.

after that, they wanted to take the luge but i didn't really want to join them so i bought chicken nuggets and ate by the beach while waiting for them.

the sunset was really breathtaking.

after they finished their luge, there was still a bit of sunset left so we spammed polaroids, which turned out to be soooo pretty. and i got these 3 :D

okay then we kinda split up and went back to the chalet by different ways.
weiting and i walked along the beach (furthest but best route in my opinion ^^).
went back to kids club to get the food and had second round of bbq. fire took damn long to start, only started eating at 9 plus -.-
still cannot finish the food. they ask me to bring home the sambal stingrays (which are still in my freezer) and bring them back to kids club cause there was no fridge in the kampong huts that we were staying in.
i think i'll make a trip down to kids club tomorrow to bring down the stingrays.
