Seoul day one and two and three (don't worry i'm not gonna blog about everyday even though i wanna haha)
hello guys~
even though i always remind myself that i have to blog about my korea trip, i have never gotten around to doing it hahaha.
and just when i'm about to start studying, i suddenly feel like blogging! lol i suck.

so continuing from the post about tokyo trip, we took our eastar jet flight in noon out of narita airport and into incheon airport.
the thing about adjusting yourself from japan mood into korea mood is that... it is not easy.
firstly, because of my cui body, we only properly had fun during our last day in tokyo so it felt like it wasn't enough (obviously). secondly, everything in japan is just so orderly and perfect. even the rows of trees at the airport runway. and when our plane touched down at the runway at incheon airport, the trees outside weren't that neat and orderly and the sun seems to be really hot so we were pretty sian.
oh and the people too. like in japan people would queue in an orderly fashion (no rush, man) to get on the escalators and stuff but at incheon people were just rushing to get on the escalator and it was quite a big contrast so even more sian.
and after we got out of the immigration point and went to the meeting point where we were supposed to meet our taxi driver uncle who would bring us from the airport to ewha, there was no one there and we were kinda panicking. (insert taxi uncle episode plus sim card episode) (ask me in person if you wanna know! haha)
ANYWAYS, the conclusion is that incheon airport is a place of bad memories for me.

we finally managed to get to our hostel and checked in and got shown our rooms at around evening time and found out that ... we have no toilet in our room!~
plus there is no wifi so the only internet connection we're gonna get is on our lappies only via the lan cable! hip hip hooray~
as you can imagine, first day in seoul was terrible with us trying to settle down while mourning about the fact that we're no longer in tokyo in our comfortable and clean little asakusa backpacker hostel.

our room was on the first floor and i think we were the only people staying on level one aside from the office people. there is a shared toilet for all of us on the first floor and also a common kitchen (which was quite gross idk as compared to the nice ones on the other levels). the only place you can get wifi is in the student lounge in B1, where there are also a few rooms for studying and where the laundry room is.

I remember being ultra super sian that night and was complaining to people (a.k.a my mum, kanny and joyce) while using the wifi in the student lounge (where I met Zhen Ping, a fellow singaporean who also happened to be in my korean class as i would soon discover and we then became good friends).
thank you kanny for trying to make me feel better about my situation by listening to me and i still owe you your letter and btw i love you.
anddd thank you joyce for offering to come down to ewha straightaway to cheer me up (she was also in korea at that time with hazel and jiarui and pris also came to korea soon after lol). in the end even though she didn't come down that night cause i stopped her as i have the korean placement test tomorrow morning, she and hazel still came down the next night and sneaked into our room where we just kinda talked and came up with a plan to meet up 2 days later for dinner then watching world cup.

random memory but on the first night after sop and i put down our stuff, we went out to get necessities like shampoo and soap and laundry detergent (talking about laundry detergent i have a feeling that we've been using softener instead of detergent all this time lol well at least the clothes smelled good) and have dinner and when we were walking back, it was SO COLD. the wind was blowing at us and i remember how our teeth were chattering as we were walking hahaha. damn loser having stayed in sunny and (freaking) hot singapore for my whole life.

the next day we had our korean placement test which consisted of a written and oral test followed by orientation. (spot sop and i! hint: we're near some plants hahaha)

I didn't get into a level as high as i'd wanted  cause the things i learn in class i already know but oh wells. i think everyone in my class feels the same. i still like my korean class though (:

in the evening we had dinner with our peace buddies (kinda like ogl) and sop joined my group cause her peace buddy poofed into thin air.
and our group joined with another group for dinner. we had jukpal~~
kinda like braised pig trotters. i love it hahaha. (the salad/coleslaw had cornflakes on them!)

the next day was the first day of lessons for us!~
me with my advertising mod and sop with her n.korean mod in the morning, a three hour break in the middle before our 3 hour long korean class. (we usually just dabao kimbab or convenience store food to eat in our room and napped and chionged korean hw during our break haha)
our first breakfast before class! theres this really good kimbab place within a paris baguette at the building where our lessons are held. the coffee there is so cheap and good T_T kimbab is also cheap and good T_T
oh have i mentioned that to get to posco building from our dorm it take a 10 minutes walk?
and plenty of STEEP slope and stairs along the way. thats how the koreans stay so skinny even though they eat so much right? all that walking and slope climbing and stairs climbing. i'm not complaining though. good exercise~

i think sop and i went out after korean class that day to explore the street right outside our school, which is famous for its shopping and food. we went a bit crazy with the make up shopping that day hahaha cause everything was just so cheap as compared to singapore even though they are from the same brand.
i just want to say that ewha's location is pretty damn awesome. shopping street right outside, lots of cafes, near to the subway and just 2 subway stops away from HONGDAE (a.k.a my favourite place everrr).
had dinner at Alchon's, which was cheap and good. (KOREA I MISS YOU SO MUCH)
and there was this guy working there who looked like a young gong yoo!! *hearts in our eyes*

hehe thats about it for the first three days! stay tuned for more cause it is only gonna get MORE EXCITING.
