SUMMER 2014 - TOKYO
Tokyo trip was fun but I fell sick so I'm pretty pissed with myself as it feels as if i've not been there before.
we were there for 5 days but most of the pictures would be from the first and last day haha.

thank you to Delta for coming to send us off~~
had nice dinner at soup restaurant and then began the packing madness when we found out that we only have 25kg worth of check in luggage but my luggage itself was already 20kg DDD:
Thanks to packing genius kan, we got over the crisis safely!

Excited us before we took off as we got upgraded to this couple seat that has more leg space~

anddddd somebody fell asleep shortly after...

Reached Narita airport in the morning and we then took the express train from the airport to Tokyo station. The sceneries were nice and it looked like a place where ys would want to move to to live in in the future. haha.

From Tokyo station we then have to change to their metro to get to asakusa to get to our hostel.
The thing about tokyo is that.... their trains are underground and some stations do not have lifts or escalators to get you to the surface so you have to climb long flights of stairs. have i mentioned that my luggage was 20 kg?

anyway after i managed to lug my luggage up those freaking stairs by myself, we got lost while trying to find our hostel but this kind japanese lady saw us and decided to bring us there.

(thank you, kind lady!)

our hostel! it was a reaaaaally nice hostel. very clean toilets and nice staffs who could speak english.
they also have events such as watching worldcup together in the lounge and live music on certain nights and there was also this nice big kitchen with vending machines and all.
awesome~~
(Asakusa Khaosan is the name of the hostel if anyone is interested!)

After checking in and sort of settling down, we decided to go outside and explore!

The surprising thing is that, even though its summer and its supposed to be super hot...
THE WEATHER WAS SO FREAKING GOOD.
You have some warm sunshine shining on your face but also chilly breeze coming at you from time to time and generally it wasn't hot at all. It was even cold at night! so fun~~

The first thing we ate in Tokyo were these delicious donuts from the Mister Donuts which was near our hostel!~
sop ordered the ball ball thing which are actually mochi-licious and i got the cronut.

we then went to the famous Asakusa Temple near our hostel.
Took some tourist-y shots.

and ate some delicious mochi. there are definitely more pictures of the mochi but sop didn't send it to me zzz.

We also went to get our fortunes and... I got no.7 and sop got no.84 and check this out:

LOL and I immediately fell sick the next day.
Don't wanna be superstitious but... oh wells.

We then decided to walk to Tokyo tower which we could see from where we were so we thought it was near BUT. hahaha it wasn't as near as we'd imagined but we had fun walking there.

and we came across this nice river.
and then we finally reached the tokyo tower but we didn't go up cause we have to pay and we're on a budget tour~ hahaha.

after that we tried to walk back to our hostel and we met with some difficulties as the sky got dark and you know how streets look different in the day and at night? haha plus i wasn't much help cause i'm a lu chi.
anyway we got stopped by a police after i made eye contact with him by accident and he spouted a long line of japanese at us which got us like ?? and after we told him "japanese, no!!" he asked to see our passports and let us off (obviously, cause we didn't do anything wrong).
okay there was some sort of language barrier while we were in japan actually.
we then shared this rice and soba set at some hole in the wall restaurant where you had to order through this vending machine-like thing even though there are people in the shop (japanese do you hate human interactions that much? i understand though, i kinda hate human sometimes haha)

kaykay so that was it for first day and we woke up really early the next morning cause we wanted to go to tsukiji fish market to eat some freaking delicious sushi BUT.
I woke up and puked but i thought that was the end of it so i went out with sop and we went to this cafe nearby for breakfast and i only had a cup of tea cause i was still not feeling well and in the end i just told sop to go ahead by herself and i'll go see a doctor instead.
sop insisted on going with me to the doctor (which i am really grateful for but i feel kinda bad cause tsukiji market is a place which you have to go earlier). there was this puke episode and doctor episode which i am too lazy to type out here then i went back to the hostel.

the sushi that sop ate on my behalf and she came back quite early with some bread and pocari sweat for me. (have i mentioned that sop is damn awesome and i love her?)
sop taking a selca with her mister donut from her bed
and my view of sop eating her mister donut taken from my bed hahaha.

during day two, Irene, a girl from Venice, checked into our hostel room and we all went out together on day 3 (which i thought i was feeling better already).
I woke up super early cause i slept too much the previous day and went down to the shared kitchen by myself before everyone woke up to have some vending machine hot chocolate which was not bad haha.
we had taiyaki (irene's first taiyaki!) for breakfast before going to meiji shrine and shibuya and harajuku~

but too bad i only have photos from meiji shrine.

seeing a gingko leaf in real life for the first time! kept it as a souvenir ^^

we shared this nice waffle thing thing in one of the shopping centres!~
the jam-like thing is actually tea jelly~ yumm.

my stomach was like hurting for the whole day but i just gek until like dinner time which i couldn't take it anymore and asked them to go eat without me while i go back to sleep in the hostel.

Day 4 the 3 of us went out together again to visit the imperial palace.
we ate mister donuts (funny how the thing i ate most in japan is freaking mister donut and i didn't eat any sushi or ramen or wtv at all!!! wtf) and i drank hot tea, which was the worst mistake ever.
cause at the imperial palace i nearly died from stomachache. like while walking i keep having to bend over and even squat down from the pain.
so i told sop i gotta go back to hostel first but she insisted on taking the cab with me back to the hostel (sopppp~~~) and we kinda pang-sehed irene and went back to hostel.
then i went to sleep while sop went to a cafe nearby to chill and do her stuff.
andddd the thing is, after i woke up i was completely fine already! wts!
so sop and i went to akihabara, which was a reaaally awesome place.
we played at the arcade and i won this giant plushie from the plushie machine which was miracle no.2 cause isn't it usually like impossible to get anything from these machines? and i got it from my first try so the plushie was only 100 yen~ so fun~~
and then that place is sort of like some otaku heaven so there were a lot of people who dressed interesting-ly.
and then there was this part which we were followed by this guy but we managed to shake him off lol that was fun too now that i think back about it.

we then went to meet sop's seniors for dinner.
it was fun cause they were really funny and nice.

 horse and whale sashimi D:
I didn't dare to eat it though.

my mandarin flavoured alcohol and sop's calpis flavoured one. i miss calpis alr~

some awesome things that japan convenience stores sell.

convenience stores in tokyo are really no joke. they are freaking awesome. the end.

then we went to the room that one of them were staying in (which had a resident cat!)
tried these colourful tomatoes that they bought which were sweet and nice

tried this tomato flavoured beer which was also nice
and this cherry vinegar thing which was ALSO nice. (japan why you so awesome)
(lol look at the person who just recovered drinking so much alcohol)
and thennnn it got quite late so we took the last train back to our dorm to put down our stuff. By then Irene was back and there was this taiwan girl whom we also made friends with in the room so the 4 of us took us polaroids as it was sop and my last night.
after that sop and i went out again to this giant 24 hour mart near our hostel which was like a mustafa in the sense that it is open for 24 hours and it sells every thing and it is damn big.
as i didn't spend much cause i had been sort of bedridden, we sort of bought a lot of snacks there and i also bought a pretty portable charger and some coloured contacts. the coloured contacts were damn cheap!!! it was like around 12 sgd for a box of 5 pairs?
there were also a lot of other interesting stuff (we are in japan afterall) but due to time and budget constraint i didn't get to take a closer look at them.

antenna honeydew which were pretty cheap!!
and a late night snack. some frozen greentea thing which melts in your mouth like heaven.

our flight the next day was quite early so other than eating breakfast, we couldn't do anything else before going to the airport.

Last meal in japan! Yummy fried rice (TW's fried rice is still the best though) and cold ramen!

and japanese man sitting beside us drinking beer at 10am in the morning!!!
 On the plane to Seoul~

Overall, Tokyo trip was fun and I would really really like to thank sop for being there and being so caring and sorry i was such a burden T_T
AND THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.
LOVE YOU SOP~
